HELI-HIKING

Heli Hiking is arguably one of the best experiences on offer in Queenstown. High above the treeline amongst the sub alpine plants, majestic views in all directions and absolute privacy. We offer 3 different Heli Hikes to cater for all abilities.

Cecil Peak Heli hike is an alpine hike in the rocky landscape just below the summit of Cecil Peak (1980m). Exit- ing the helicopter you will immediately be struck by the remoteness and granduer of the setting. A short climb through tussock grasses gets us to a panaramic viewpoint on the prominent skyline ridge above Lake Wakatipu. We follow the ridge towards the rock outcrops at the top of Island Spur, our final destination and a great spot to wait for the helicopter enjoying a cold drink.

Heli in, Hike and Heli out. Duration 3-6 hours. Suitable for more experienced hikers.

Ben Lomond Heli Hike offers a superb private high country route and great open vistas. We land on the sunny north ridge and follow the stock route along a stunning ridge line to the summit (1750m). From here we take the track down to the saddle and enjoy expansive views over Queenstown. Following the track down to the Skyline Gondola where we are carried down from Bobs Peak to Queenstown. Paragliding optional.

The Mt Selwyn Hike is a great addition to your Fiordland Scenic flight. We liaise with your heli operator to meet you after your Milford flight on a suitable ridge high on Mt Selwyn, Ben Lomond Station. Perfect to make a full day out of your heli scenic.
